So what seems to be the problem? Are you without focus? Do you not know what direction you are headed in? Do you seem to have a choice before you and you are not able to amass sufficient material to make an informed decision? Where are you going to go when available information is not enough?
These are the questions behind the answer in Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. When you cannot see, when what you can see is insufficient, when sight itself fails, faith becomes the source of truth. Substance is reality. Substance is something you can hold in your hand. Substance is an undeniable belief.
We hope for reality to be understandable. We hope life will be better. We hope in the things we do not hold. It is not necessary to hope for what you hold in your hand. It is unreasonable to hope the past will be different. Hope is for the future. Hope is for a difference. What we see is the apparent future. What we hope for is a better future. What we hope for is a change to what is apparent by what we see.
Faith is the evidence that shows us the truth of a different future. By faith we confirm the belief in a different future than what is apparent by the future we see in the present. Faith says what I see is not the truth that is coming. So it is important that our faith be based on truth, solely based on truth. By faith we believe the Bible is the source of truth and its confirmation. God wrote a book. He claims it to be one hundred percent true. It is the only source of truth which can be counted on to always be right.
Whatever the problem, the Bible has the answer. Whatever the direction the Bible gives clear focus. Whatever the decision it can be confidently made by relying on the advice of the Bible. Want to have a more perfect understanding of where today will end up tomorrow? Read the Bible. It is clearly the most faithful source of help you can reach out to.
