What ever Happened to:
Holiness – The state of belonging to or derived from or associated with a divine power. There is only one divine power. How is your state with Him? This is the evidence of His control. For His command is that we be as He is. If He is in us, working through us, conveying our most intimate thoughts to the throne room in heaven by His indwelling Holy Spirit, then how can we be otherwise?
Leviticus 11:45 For I am the LORD that brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. Leviticus 20:7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be you holy: for I am the LORD your God. Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 1 Peter 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be you holy in all manner of conversation; Revelation 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
Humility – Christ humbled Himself to the cross for our benefit. What should our response be? Certainly it is not to lift ourselves as proud possessors of our own doings. Humility is not appearing debased or poverty stricken so that others might take notice of you. Rather it is forsaking the glory and praise which might well be rightly yours in order that all glory goes to the one who truly deserves all praise.
2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Proverbs 22:4 By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honor, and life. Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, you younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble. 1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:Heavenly Minded – is desiring the things of His presence. We seem to be so focused on ourselves, our needs, our wants and our accomplishments that the Lord must wonder if we will ever gaze heavenward in anticipation of our great homecoming day when we leave all of “OURs” behind.
Psalm 139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, you are there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, you are there. Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: Colossians 3:1 If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. :2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Hebrews 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. 2Peter 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,Hell – Reserved for the Devil and his angels, enlarged to receive fallen man. No single word in the languages of the world evokes such painful and dreadful thoughts. Its torments are promised to be devastating, intense and everlasting.
Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. Isaiah 5:14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoices, shall descend into it. Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Luke 16:23-24 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. :24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.Honor – Men identify with that which agrees with their ideal of highest worth. It is a thing held in high esteem, which they honor. Is it your good name; A women’s discreetness? Is it giving to the one who deserves it that which is rightly theirs? Is it one who has earned a place by sacrifice, obedience and hard work?
Exodus 20:12 Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God gives you. 1Samuel 2:30 Wherefore the LORD God of Israel says, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD says, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed. Psalm 49:20 Man that is in honor, and understands not, is like the beasts that perish. Psalm 66:2 Sing forth the honor of his name: make his praise glorious. Romans 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor. 1Timothy 5:17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine. 1Peter 3:7 Likewise, you husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
