Kingship Who is your Lord, your master, your sovereign? We have replaced the throne of God with the Lazy Boy recliner in our lives. Few people fast, pray on calloused knees, sacrificially give to the Lord’s ministries, or deprive themselves for His glory. No, we are much more like Solomon who denied himself no pleasure. We are our own king.
1Samuel 8:7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
Psalm 5:2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: know so little. “I’ll pray for you” is probably the most broken promise in Christendom. Even the creator God of the universe testifies against all such. What a sense of Godliness is there reserved for the one who keeps all his promises.
Deuteronomy 4:2 You shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall you diminish ought from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
Psalm 17:4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.
Psalm 119:67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.
2Corinthians 11:31 The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knows that I lie not.
1Thessalonians 4:6 That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
Kindness God’s is declared to be everlasting along with His mercy. There is a clue we should look into. Without mercy kindness is seldom displayed. Good will; benevolence; that temper or disposition which delights in contributing to the happiness of others, which is exercised cheerfully in gratifying their wishes, supplying their wants or alleviating their distresses. Kindness ever accompanies love. It is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Psalm 17:7 Set out Your wonderful loving-kindness, O Savior of those seeking refuge in You, by Your right hand, from those who rise up against me.
If a person was required to enumerate all the things, good qualities and accomplishments of another before they could voice a critical opinion, I wonder how little criticism there might be time for?
2Samuel 2:6 And now the LORD show kindness and truth unto you: and I also will requite you this kindness, because ye have done this thing.
Psalm 40:11 Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O Jehovah; let Your loving-kindness and Your truth always watch over me.
Psalm 63:3 Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith,
Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender feelings of mercy, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering,
Ephesians4:32 And be you kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
2Peter 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity
