Our Home

We live in our home week by week
No amount of cleaning can make it squeak
We stay in for rest and go out to seek
Things we need to make our home more unique

There are treasures and tools and just some things
To have and use and the joy it all brings
Some are for simple folk others for kings
This piece is perfect while that one has dings

Each has its place and gets put there sometimes
Baskets and boxes and books full of rhymes
We’re loud as freight trains and quiet like mimes
We can wear blue jeans or dress to the nines

Won’t brag like we’re the perfect family
We’ve got sweets and presents under the tree
On Christmas we read the Bible story
Of how Jesus was born to set us free

We live in a home that’s sometimes a mess
And pray to Jesus to guide us and bless
It’s not His desire for us to impress
‘Cuz we like life fine without all that stress

So happiness comes in every shape and size
But there is one trick to really be wise
Open you heart and don’t look with your eyes
A home in heaven is really first prize
