Promises

Daddy said that I could be happy
Daddy said there would be love
If my heart would cling to His ways
And seek my home in heaven above

Our home is a mansion, big and bright
Where streets are made of the purest gold
No one there is wanting or hungry
And in that place we’ll never grow old

These are the promises of Jesus
These are the promises of His joy
These are the promises in His word
Promises to every girl and boy

Daddy said there will be no more tears
Daddy said there will no more night
For now I know Him as my Savior
And there in Heaven He is the light

Our place in His kingdom here on earth
Where blessings flow to those who obey
Is where we learn of grace and mercy
Until our joyful homecoming day
