Be my Valentine

Happy Valentines Day; it is a very special day of love. A day of joys and sorrows. When many yesterday are remembered with longings for a special tomorrow. It is a good thing that a man finds when he finds a wife, for so the scripture says. Most men enjoy the looking for and thinking about that promised being fulfilled in their lives. Some are there already some are getting close and some of you, well there is always hope. Valentines day reminds us of the love of a man for a woman and of a woman for a man. The truth is that when God puts them together it can be truly grand. On February 14th (more than a day or two ago…) while playing cards with Steve and Karen, I opened a small velvet lined box in front of Sue and said “will you?”

Many flowers and candies and dinners later she is still the love of my life. And though I have sometimes fought with her, I am will to fight for her and to even let her mother live with us. (Now that’s love!) It will be 37 years this May. I really believe I got the better end of the bargain. Three, Seven, Thirteen and twenty one were the hard years to work through. We all have them but we either get through or a piece of us dies.

We symbolize love with a heart and a heart with a special shape. It is a focal point. The shape is nothing like the real heart and the heart is not where our love is, it’s just a muscle. So if you our traveling or sitting or dancing or whatever, just be with the one who makes your heart complete. In doing that, you reflect the love of God for others to see. Have a Happy Valentines Day.
