My thoughts this morning turned to how especially wonderful my relationship with the Lord is. Rather than being able to eloquently expound His marvelous greatness, I’ll just stop with these few lines He gave me to sing back to Him this morning while driving to work. Truly He is beyond mere words.
Oh the peace of this hour, Is not a soft rain shower
It’s, I Love You
No one ever need cower, Before this mighty strong tower
That says, I Love you
His love blossoms like a flower, When your soul has been scoured
With, I Love you
The sweetness will not sour, In His invitation power
He says, I Love you
These words that are heard, Cause your heart to be stirred
And say, I Love You
For then it has occurred, That you soul has been spurred
When you say, I Love You
Though some think it absurd, His word fully assured
Is, I Love you
So much more than a bird, The sound He’s preferred
Is, I Love You
When your voice wants to raise, To the object of your praise
Just say, I Love You
So if the rain doesn’t fall, Or you have no joy at all
Say, I Love You
When your next breath is your last, And this earthly life is past
Say, I Love You
Simply call upon His Name, He is always the same
And say, I Love You
In anything that’s new, He’s given you this clue
Yes, I Love you
As His Spirit passes through, You’ll get this in your view
Yes, I Love you
If you feel it’s overdue, Do what’s really tried and true
Saying, I Love You
So in all you say and do, Let this one thing accrue
