Today is relief day. It is the day when we will finally get some relief from the political ads and phone calls and accusations. It is election day. Most of the folks I know have the same opinion about the campaigning and half truth telling. The most common opinion is “Enough already”!
I hope the ones you voted for do well. I hope we are wise enough to choose the right leader. I hope God will be merciful to us. And I know He will. Unfortunately He will probably also give us the leadership we deserve. It is what we deserve because we have not been the First Chronicles Seven Fourteen kind of people He desires. If we would choose to get some real Godly relief, we would bow the knee, confess our wickedness, seek His righteousness and obey His Word.
Until then it is temporary relief from political rangling. Yet there is one thing to remember, “We do not elect a savior every four years, we elect a leader”. We had better elect a Godly one.
