The Hand Who Planned
Do you ever plan a day to bring grief and sorrow
So bleak so dark with only fear for tomorrow
It saddens my heart and brings me sorrow
That I cannot fix today or know tomorrow
For if I would touch either by my hand
I’d mar all the blessings He has planned
The evil I’d seek to avoid would be in my hand
And I’d miss all the joy He has planned
No I don’t wish for untold sorrow
Nor for dark clouds in my tomorrow
Only by trusting the Healer of sorrow
Will I be blessed with a brighter tomorrow
Then if you see going forth my hand
You’ll know it’s there as He has planned
For He who created every foot and hand
Owns every praise my heart has planned
So let me now lay aside such sorrow
Seeking to obey His will for tomorrow
Great joy is mine found even in sorrow
For the holder of today holds tomorrow
I am His Child held in His hand
With no better future than He has planned
Just like the nail prints in His hand
By His grace I’ll be, just as He has Planned
