Was Jonah Mad

And he said unto them, I am an Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land. Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said unto him. Why hast thou done this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them. Jonah 1:9-10

An Hebrew he said. Hebrew means stranger, alien, sojourner, one who is not in their home place. God gave the dominion of the Palestinian lands to His chosen people. He had promised it to Abrahm and fulfilled it through Moses and Joshua. They were a people without a homeland. Yet the land of Israel was still a temporary place. Can I Give Too Much?

         How much is too much? When I look at givers, I marvel at their use of the gift and I wonder. I wonder about a lot of issues. Is there a limit to what they should give? Is there a specified place or a forbidden one? Is there a better time or a time to restrain from using the gift? What would be too little? I wonder.
         I’m not just addressing financial giving, although that is certainly a primary use of the gift. Some folks are gifted to be able to do multiple things equally well at the same time. Some folks are able to pour themselves into a one on one with soothing healing ‘Balm of Gilead’ essence. I wonder, is an outright grin too much or is a slight distance smile enough. Everyday

Everyday some one leaves the land of the living
Saints are drawn home to Him who has forgiven
Time marches on but their march has no more time
Each moment in His presence is blessed and sublime

We know that each of us has a limited number of years, days and hours. If we are His children the end of this life is a wonderful new beginning impossible for us to fathom or describe just yet. When our march reaches the end of our days and there are no more cycles left, we will enter the timelessness of being in His presence. We are precious in His sight, now and then. Continue reading
