Every once in a while I say something or see something that deserves to stand on its own, Just a sentence or paragraph that serves us better to be pondered as a Singularly Ponderable Thought.
Singularly Ponderable Thought
Saturday Date
Saturdays are good days for a date
Just the spouse and me would be great
Days are usually sweeter with your mate
Off on our own with no one to rate
Whatever we do early or late
Leaving nothing to chance or to fate
Is it better to plan or procrastinate?
Just make sure something’s on the slate
It’s good to be flexible and not get irate
If things get stalled and you have to wait
Don’t open your mouth and try to berate
Let’s not try fishing without any bait
Nor sweet talk your honey without being straight
If you’re going with friends please don’t take eight
Two or three’s plenty if you’ve got no tailgate
Now just one more word for you to collate
Don’t be cheap if you’re hoping to create
An atmosphere that promises to elate
Feelings of beauty meant to inflate
The chances you’ll have to translate
All your hard work into a great Saturday date

Is Time on Your Side?
How much time does it take for God to save a single soul? I have long maintained that time is irrelevant to the Lord when it comes to the age of people receiving His gift of Salvation. In spite of the obvious naysayers objections that being saved late in one’s life wastes so many years, I do not believe the Lord is displeased when anyone comes to Him at any age. He patiently presents the opportunity again and again to some who never will. He patiently waits for precisely the right moment to present His truth to one of advanced years who has never heard. He patiently reveals Himself in grace and mercy through the lives of believers until our stubborn hearts confess Him and receive. So how long does it take? Continue reading
It Pains me to Say
One of the toughest times for people to share is when they are hurting. Physical pain is often disregarded because we don’t want others to be burdened with our issues. Sometimes we will allow those close to us to see its effects but tend to hide it from those we think might respect us. I’ve seen people go to work in great discomfort because it is a place where they receive a measure of acknowledgement for their abilities or skills. They would rather be resting and recuperating but feel they have an image to maintain so they endure. Some will even go their doctor and tell them there are no physical issues when they are almost crying for the pain they are going through. They do so simply because they don’t want the doctor to think less of them.
