It’s Monday. It is not Christmas, New Year’s Day, something special or the absolute best day of your life. It’s Monday, and just like every other day of your life you have options. You are going to attempt to accomplish some things which will not turn out so well. You will amaze and astound some folks and maybe even yourself at others. There is only one you. All that you do is all that is you. Some will live in the future, some in the past. Others will live in the present hoping for something other than what they have. You will love Him with all of your heart and mind and soul or not. He will be “your everything” or mean nothing at all to you. You will proclaim Him or deny that you ever knew Him. “Him” could be your goldfish, your cat, dog, boyfriend, husband, Father or child. Or even a “her”. Of the billions of souls on this planet only a few millions have access to high speed internet. Of the Millions which are so blessed, only a portion will open their face book page today. Okay, it may be a healthy portion. Still, it is only a portion. And of those few millions or hundreds of thousands, only a very, very few will read this Monday thought. Continue reading
Anticipation
One of my favorite questions is “And then what?” As in,“What is expected next?” As your next future event comes to pass, what follows it? Just as we search backward through time and events to find the cause of it all, we also think of the forward possibilities. How do I fit in? Where does this all go? What can I do to make life happen? There are scenarios where we simply abandon the possibilities and declare we will make future decisions when the future becomes the present. Which in reality is what we do anyway. And present circumstances almost always result from previous decisions and their consequences. Continue reading
Standard Renewable Post for 2015
Once again it is the last day. The last day of the year is December thirty first. The next is January first. That day will begin a new year. This one is well spent. It has had three hundred sixty five days to fill all it is. That which was to be done in this year either haI s been or will not be this year. My granddaughters (One of the premier joys in my life) left for home in another state a couple days ago. We enjoyed a wonderful time of Christmas celebration. Some will already be done with this year and moving on to the next chapter in their life. Some will be done with this life at the end of this year and be moving on to the next. Some did not make it through the full year. Their time stopped, their lives changed part way through. Continue reading
What to Believe?
Why would people rather believe a lie? Even when the truth fits better, it seems many folks are so used to lies that they can’t accept the truth. This results in their own confusion and hurt. It diminishes their impact for good in the lives of others and causes an unhealthy pattern to develop in their lives. In the beginning, in the garden, God told the truth and the serpent lied. God’s two wonderful intelligent human creations believed the liar and his lie. Continue reading
