Things I See

This one may be a bit of a more difficult read as I was playing with some words. Still I hope you are able to see the value in it.

The things that I desire to see, are things I desire to see
Those which others look into, are too complicated for me
Yet if a thing could be retold as a holy prize to know
I suppose I would like by it, to cause my wit to show

Most fruit is good and tasty too, for which my desires have pined
Yet the inner and not the outer is where my joy has dined
What I abhor to hold instead of God’s wealth in my mind
Is just the sort which ought to be treated as the bitter rind

Those thoughts which I disdain the more and deem such a bore
By and by I choose by grace to listen to them rant no more
Yet in my soul the need is carried to ask what they are for
For I ponder if their worth is in God’s wisdom or just in lore

And do the sounds which make these rounds have meaning for all to see
Or are they only an exercise in rhyme pleasant for me
If thought deep and allowed to steep could they truly be set free
Whether their place is disgrace or better, you’ll best referee
