Hospitals

Hospitals are not a proper place for waning souls to die
Listen to these words of hope, perhaps you will see why
The day of death comes to all, at each ones appointed time
A life lived well before the Lord, knows promises sublime
Tears of sorrow and tears of joy, are seen in many eyes
Those who pass in truth will gain, unlike those believing lies
A hospital is planned to be a place, for the healing arts
To flourish upon torn bodies, and give new babies starts
For within the minds of some men, God has allowed to be
Cleverness to fix some things, which others cannot see
To learn to walk again, to smile and cause the flesh to heal
Is why hospitals grow, and that’s a better way to feel

Everyone who enters there, has hope of coming out again
Regardless of their brokenness, or how deep they are in sin
Those who die in its halls, it rooms or its beds
Mean not to steal the joys from, other people’s heads
So when my time comes at last, to leave this world behind
I hope that I can be far from, those who have been so kind
By taking care to heal my flesh, when something had gone wrong
And giving me more time to live, my days which have been long
So joy and hope can be the thought, of all who enter there
And victory will be the cry, of doctors who train and dare
To be the tools of God’s gracious hand, and marvel at His plan
For He provides this healing place, for the fleshly ills of man

Yet those who will not choose His love, seek only to extend
Their days upon the earth because, theirs is a hopeless end
Asking Jesus to forgive them, and let His Spirit enter
Would give new hope and make, Holy things their center
Death will come to all who live, but I hope my day is not
In the halls of the place, where healing joys are caught
Amongst my friends and those who love, my Savior divine
In a quiet restful place, is where I hope to find
The door through which I shall enter, to go unto Him
Who started from before my birth, to mold me as a gem
So bless the hospital and all who labor there each day
But let me pass from this life, with different joys I pray
No, Hospitals aren’t a proper place, for waning souls to die
I trust these words of hope, have helped you to see why
