Legacy is a powerful word. Several dictionaries define legacy as a gift of value left through a will or something passed on from one generation to another. Who Am I?
Once I heard the secret, it seemed no longer true
Now that it was well known, what was I to do?
Oh how could I have been such a fool?
To have trusted one so cruel
Not knowing how the lie would rule
Never had there been one in my school
Why should it be done by one as blest as you?
Now I see your evil way though before I had no clue
So innocence is not mine, nor what it portrays
Love has been jilted by that which betrays
Fear and sorrow cannot praise
And life is hidden in a maze
Yet is there hope of joy which stays
Oh that I might there once more graze
In His mercy He who deserves every praise
Healed my spot and set my wanting soul ablaze
For I was joined to life without the chance of birth
And was condemned to live my days in sour dearth
And as a curse for what my part was worth
I would know sorrow in my girth
So in pain I plod upon the earth
Knowing that I only bought this mirth
And do expect to find again a more pleasant berth
In the home of the Holy One who offers new birth
