Does your battle seem harder than it’s ever been?
Are you counting the reasons you just can’t win?
Are there forces at work who mean to do you wrong?
Are you crying out to the LORD, “How long? How long?”
Is your enemy constantly bringing up your past?
Have you already told yourself this can’t possibly last?
Are you waiting on the cavalry, you don’t expect to show?
Is the darkest corner where you really want to go?
Then you are in the place God desires for you
You are weak and powerless, there’s nothing you can do
If you are going to survive and once again stand
It’ll be because of God’s mighty Omnipotent hand
The wisdom and strength of every person on this earth
Can’t make hope or a song out of your miserable mirth
Your garments are filthy and your mind is too
And now He wants is to make you someone brand new
The gold and riches of this world are not
What He’ll use to free you from where you are caught
In your silence He speaks with a still small voice
No fire nor wind nor quake makes this choice
The sheltering wings and life giving blood
Flow from within as an unyielding flood
Victory and grace beyond any you have seen
Surrounds and lifts you, now whitened and clean
No baby has ever struggled through birth
Thinking it fun or measuring its worth
And no man has ever known the mind of God
Without being tested and thought of as odd
The power, the presence, the overwhelming love
Are ours by new birth and come from above
Seeking His best means giving up our ways
And Praising His Holy Name all of our days.
