Jesus Loves Me

Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so. The truth of God’s Word is simple enough for a child to see. Yet many adults and older children as well have a difficult time accepting this truth.  They have been tainted and touched by the pains of life. Not life as God intended it but He gets the blame nonetheless. How many times have you heard someone say “if God is so good, why…?”

Yet God is so good that He uses even the wickedness of men’s choices and the hurts of evil’s influence to direct people to His love. Jesus said “Whoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.”  You must come as a little child. For an uninjured child full of joy and having the constant protection of love, knowing no hurt nor harm, it is easy to understand love. It is easy to turn to the author of love and accept His salvation. For this reason it is important that we share His truth and love with children from the earliest ages.

As we grow older we have the imposition of evil thrust upon us by the cruel selfishness of the wicked. By this influence we too become wicked and impose the same awful affliction upon any innocence we can discover. Yet into this vicious cycle God the Holy Spirit intervenes to introduce us to the love of Christ Jesus once again. Throughout His Word, God seeks the good of His people. He clearly proclaims His desire for us to return unto Him. He cries from every page “You are the desired chosen one, I love you”.

When your mother cannot keep sorrow from her face
Or if your father is gone, surely I’ll take their place
When sin is tempting, crying My name is no disgrace
My blood was shed, all these sorrows to erase

Just call on my name and I’ll give you much grace
Your life is precious, I’ll help you run the race
Walk with Me in the way and I’ll set your pace
Plant your heart in My Word, as your secure base

And when you falter let My Spirit, be your brace
Taste of My joys, let our hearts interlace
With all these claims and more, I state My case
You are the precious one, I choose to embrace

It is a simple choice. Say “Yes” to Jesus. You do not need to understand it all nor need to be able to explain it all. You need only to believe He loves you enough to have paid the price for your sin by dying for you. He is good enough to love you and God enough to give you new life.  Just as a little child believes.
