Rainy Sunday Thoughts

As Sundays go it was as good as most
Dreary rain coming down dampens the mood
Cloudy skies ruling from here to the coast
This weather’s favored by mother duck’s brood

Some call it fall others just call it foul
Happens every year, a regular thing
Raincoats and galoshes worn with a scowl
Folks don’t seem to know it comes from a king

He sends the white clouds, sunshine and rainbows
All that variety in just one day
Then trots out the ducklings all in a row
And so many puddles where children play

Mondays come next with their own surprises
Some things are different some are the same
Each has sunsets before the next rises
The ducks all quacking in a silly game

Each day of the week, designed by God’s hand
Some with sunshine and others with showers
The week starts with Sunday in every land
In them you see God’s glorious powers

Since this is Sunday let’s focus on Him
Whose power and beauty show forth in love
In plan and purpose, nothing on a whim
Rain for little ducklings comes from above
