No One

Had a very enjoyable conversation with my friend Sam this morning and thought I would just post up this little piece I wrote before going to work this morning. Give it a read and let us know if it resonates with you.

No one knows my trials, No one knows my sorrows
No one cares for me, Or if I’ll have tomorrows
No one knows when I don’t sleep, No one knows my pain
No one knows the hours I keep, For little earthly gain
No one hears my sobs, No one sees my tears
No one feels me trembling, Or cowering in my fears
No, there is One who knows, And is touched by all my woes
Christ Jesus who loves me so, He is the One who knows

No one knows my heartache, Of not being good enough
No one knows my hurts, Because I try to be tough
No one knows when I stop, My eyes closed in despair
How I wish it all would end, But life’s not that fair
No one knows my disgrace, No one knows my shame
No one lifts up my face, Nor feels my smothered flame
No, there is One who knows, And has a beautiful name
Which means God surely saves, Jesus who is always the same

No one is a lonely phrase, No one should ever know
No one ought to have days, Without love’s simple glow
No one should have life, Where no one holds them dear
No one should know hate, Shouted in their ear
No one has the answer, My soul is longing for
No one but the one, Knocking on my hearts door
No, there is One who knows, He’s promised in His word
That every cry and prayer, In Heaven would be heard

No one knows the times, We share in sweet relief
When love wipes away my tears, And joy erases all my grief
No one sees the dance, That is played in my heart
No one hears His song, As we each sing our part
No one sees my glowing, Of glorious joy inside
For that’s where he is now, And chooses to reside
No, there is One who knows, And if you’d choose Him too
He’d take away life’s sorrows, And come to live in you
