A life is lived
And then it”s gone
Still others continue
Continue to live on
The Best that’s known
As memory serves
Is what’s kept straight
Though Life has curved
The measure that’s held
Worth more than gold
Is how it touches still
As we too grow old

The “Z” Things of God
Zeal is the passionate response of a willing heart to the goodness and mercy of an all wise, loving, Heavenly father. As a passion, it must be tempered by the Word of God and God the Holy Spirit. Zeal is expressed in Scripture as an attribute of a Holy God. We should seek to adorn His attributes. In our passion, we should provoke others to good works and following the Lord. This will be seen as zeal to some and normal to others. However it will greatly please our Heavenly Father.

The Jesus I see, is but a reflection of me.
In the mirror is truth, for the aged or youth
It shows forth the power, which I stand in each hour
A smile or a frown, declares great joy or is cast down

Running on Empty
How long can you keep running on empty? Since we have not yet conquered the concept of a perpetual motion machine, almost every device we operate must have its energy source refueled from time to time. Some last longer than others between fill ups but all eventually need a refill. There are different resources for different engines. Some use gasoline, some diesel, some electricity, some just need a little more water. Beyond all of the devices and engines we have invented are the things God has put around us. Plants require water, nutrients and sunlight. Rivers and lakes need snowfall and rain. Everything needs to be refueled, revitalized, filled up and restored so they can continue on doing and being and fulfilling their purpose. Continue reading
