The “X” Things of God

eXampling Godliness  Hebrews Chapter eleven is called the faith chapter because of the testimonies exampled their. People are given special commendation in scripture because they exhibited qualities in their decisions and daily manner of living which gave evidence of their having known Jehovah God in a personal and real and effectual way. We example our love for the Savior when we do as He did, in pleasing the Father. He exampled for us and we provide example for others.

John 8:29       And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

John 13:15     For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.

1Corinthians10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

1Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

1Peter 2:21     For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

eXhibiting Christ likeness      Who is like unto the King of Glory? We are! So we are commanded to portray that likeness in our living. We are created in His likeness, redeemed to walk in His likeness and as the song of old says, we are expecting Him to “Stamp thine own image deep in my heart”!

Genesis 1:26  This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

1Peter 1:15     But as he which hath called you is holy, so be you holy in all manner of conversation;

16    because it is written, Be you holy; for I am holy.

1Peter 3:1       Likewise, you wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;

 3:2      While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

 3:3      Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;

1John 3:2       Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
